Lincoln Center   School Partnership Program

Lincoln Center Education (LCE), the educational arm of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, is a global leader in arts education. It has served Nassau County for decades, offering Common Core-aligned services that enhance student learning and teacher practice. Schools can choose from a variety of partnership levels to fit their budgets and goals.

LCE sends trained Teaching Artists into K–12 schools to work with students and teachers before and after they see a world-class performance or visual artwork. Schools can select offerings from LCE’s acclaimed repertory, spanning dance, music, theater, and the visual arts. The repertory includes renowned artists such as dancer Bill T. Jones, a Kennedy Center Honoree, and painter Helen Frankenthaler, a National Medal of Arts recipient.

In addition to in-class services, LCE provides professional development workshops for educators and administrators, as well as programs for families and other community-based audiences.

Deeply committed to high-quality arts education in pre-K – 12 classrooms, LCE boasts of a long history of partnering with local colleges and universities to train teacher candidates in arts education before they begin teaching. LCE’s training helps educators to build strategies for meeting the goals of the Common Core State Standards, building 21st Century Skills among students and developing lessons that feature inquiry and experiential learning, all of which are required in today’s classrooms.
