HELPFUL HINTS
- Artist Name / Program Desc.
- In addition to searching by Artist Name, this feature will search
for specific words within the artist profile (such as contact name)
or program description, including title. Example: if you are looking
for a theater program typing in "Theater" will find all tenses of the word
"Theatering, Theatered, Theaters." It will not find Theatre or Theatrical.
In this case it would be best to just type "Theat" to find Theatre, Theater and Theatrical.

- Cost
- Use this field to select a range of costs. Move the left and right slider until the dollar
amount listed above represents how much you want to spend.
- CATEGORY
- You can choose to narrow your search by category – the five areas of arts:
art, Dance, Literature, Theater, Music; plus Exploratory Enrichment and
Professional Development. Make sure the category chosen matches what you are seeking.
For instance, if you are searching for a dancer named "Phyllis Johnson" and
type her name in the ARTIST NAME field, but have Music engaged in the CATEGORY field,
"Phyllis Johnson's" member listing will not be included in the search results.
You may choose "ALL" in the CATEGORY field to search across all categories.
- Exploratory Subject Area
- When Exploratory Enrichment is selected from the category drop down,
this option will appear. Use the Exploratory Subject Area drop down to help you select a
specific type of exploratory-based program.
- GRADE
- If you are looking for an artist geared toward a certain grade level or range,
use the slide bar to narrow your search. For instance, if you are looking for a storyteller appropriate
for kindergarten through second grade students, slide the left and right nodes until K-2 is listed above the bar.
You will only receive listings that fall within that range. To access listings in all grade levels,
select PK through 12. To access one specific grade level, slide both nodes to match
the grade level you're looking for. To Skip This: Slide the nodes left and right as far as possible.

CoSer 403
-
CoSer 403 is the Cooperative Service designation for Arts in Education (AIE) programs,
including performances, workshops, residencies and tickets to cultural events. AIE programs may
include music, dance, drama, creative writing, and the visual and media arts, as well as professional
development (for teachers) and student participation in festivals. These programs take place at
participating schools or at surrounding cultural venues. All programs serve to enhance the regular
curriculum and to integrate the New York State Learning Standards for the Arts at all levels, Pre-K
through grade 12.
-
CoSer 412
-
Exploratory Enrichment (EE) programs fall within CoSer 412. These programs are designed to enhance
traditional classroom instruction in math, science, social studies, English language arts, languages
other than English, character development, careers and health. EE programs add a special dimension to
curriculum already in use and are an interactive means of reinforcing learning, and using imagination
and creative thinking. EE programs are based on New York State Learning Standards outside the arts.
School districts can use the BOCES Exploratory Enrichment CoSer to enhance state-driven curriculum at
all levels, Pre-K through grade 12.
