The didgeridoo is an Australian Aboriginal musical instrument with an otherworldly sound. The Aussie Funk Jam is a totally interactive and hands-on workshop in which participants learn how to play the “didge” with our beginner instruments!

Participants will … learn how to vocalize and create simple rhythms … learn about Australia and Aboriginal culture … learn the fundamental concepts of circular breathing … partake in an uplifting jam session … learn how to craft didgeridoo (on their own time) from household items such as cardboard tubes and PVC pipe!

The Funk Jam is best for ages 7+ and groups of 50 or less, but mature youngsters and slightly larger groups are OK. The workshop works best as an accompaniment or follow-up to the DDU Show.

Since 2003, DDU performers have presented 10,000+ programs at schools and other venues in New York and nationwide ... with countless rave reviews!
