Didgeridoo Down Under Show = Australian Music, Education, Motivation, Entertainment!
“Fascinating presentations. I'm certain you sparked a lot of young minds.” - Eric Kay, Bethpage School District Music Coordinator
“The students and staff loved it. Kudos!” - Paula Lein, Freeport Archer Street School Principal
“The programs were fabulous. Great work!” - Anissa Arnold, Herricks School District Music & Performing Arts Director
The DDU Show is an energetic fusion of Australian music, culture, art, science, comedy, character building (kindness, acceptance, respect) and audience participation. Join us on an epic adventure to the Land Down Under, where we'll hear otherworldly sounds from the didgeridoo, we'll explore the Great Barrier Reef and the Outback, and we'll learn about amazing creatures like kangaroos and koalas ... all while moving and grooving to the pulsing rhythms of the didge. The DDU Show is interactive, educational, motivational and super fun for all ages!
DDU performer Rob Thomas plays many exotic didgeridoos and worldly percussion instruments throughout the show. He also uses a multitude of props – motivational signs, maps, globes, puppets and more – to deliver educational lessons and empowering messages. The program is very participatory, and several segments involve students playing instruments, dancing, or acting out a story. We adjust the program content and delivery style according to the audience age range.
DDU supports The Dignity Act and will motivate your students to … - Appreciate world music and art. - Act with kindness and acceptance. - Respect multiculturalism and diversity. - Think creatively and imaginatively. - Stand up against bullying. - Protect the environment. - Become better global citizens!
Since 2003, DDU performers have presented 10,000+ programs at schools and other venues in New York and nationwide … with countless rave reviews!
