She also does plate spinning, Chinese yoyo, ribbon dancing, and more. Students join them to create an impromptu ribbon dance and try their hand at plate spinning. Students learn about the Chinese language and culture as Lina Liu explains some of the rituals of Chinese New Year, teaches the audience Chinese phrases, and encourages them to think about what it might have been like to grow up in a different time and place
