Rachel's Challenge Program/Assembly Rachel’s Challenge is an interactive school assembly and character education program inspired by the life and writings of Rachel Scott, the first victim of the Columbine High School tragedy on April 20, 1999. Her acts of kindness and compassion have sparked one of the most impactful school programs in the country.
Developed with Dr. Robert Marzano, Rachel’s Challenge is a Tier 1 intervention that measurably improves school climate, student mental health, bullying prevention, and student connections. The goal is to inspire and equip students and staff with tools to sustain a chain reaction of kindness and compassion.
Program Impact: - More than 150 suicides and violent acts prevented annually. - 9 known school shootings averted. - Thousands of Friends of Rachel (FOR) Clubs established.
