Program Description
This program provides necessary tools to understand, recognize, and prevent relationship violence. Participants will learn warning signs and risk factors and gain a greater understanding of the dynamics that can perpetuate and facilitate relationship violence. Participants will also gain a better sense of self by asking the question, “Who am I?” and “What is a healthy relationship?” Risk factors and abusive dating relationships are examined, providing participants with the knowledge to help them to recognize and avoid dangerous situations in their lives. Participants will understand that unhealthy behaviors can surface in any type of relationship, and that power and control are often the driving forces. Additionally, participants will be informed of their resources both inside and outside of school.
