Program Description
Students will engage in discussions of various elements of Diversity and Inclusion with the goal of building CommUNITY and a sense of belonging for everyone. Emphasis is placed on the power of words and actions in either dividing or bringing people together. Each interactive activity promotes awareness, tolerance, understanding and inclusiveness. Topics addressed include building awareness, understanding the harmful effects of stereotypes, prejudice and bias, micro-aggressions, the power of language, and how to “stand up” for others. Participants are challenged to think about the individual role they play as it relates to communicating and demanding respect for all. Activities are modified based on the age of participants.
