Program Description
A Native American Experience that is entertaining and keeps students' attention during active learning. Old and new ways of the Plains peoples includes a full-size tipi, moving museum of beadwork, quillwork, clothing, buffalo stomach cooking pot, tipi 'furniture', shields, weapons, etc. music and dance (depending upon number of students). Aligns with NYS arts anchor standards 11. Specifically connects with visual art enduing understanding and essential questions. 2.3, 6.1,and 11.1. Learn how Plains Indians hunted buffalo, used its parts for food, clothing, shelter living in ecological balance with buffalo, used artistic expression in all aspects of life and keep their culture alive today. Each booking is for one grade level, providing in-depth learning delivered as either one full day or two half-days of programming.
