Program Description
Specifically designed for the younger student, this program presents exciting dances from Spain, South America and the Latin Caribbean in colorful, traditional costuming. Simple lecture links the dances to various aspects of Hispanic culture, its multi-cultural history and the Spanish language.
The performance includes audience participation throughout and demonstration of castanet playing, footwork, & rhythmic handclapping. The program culminates with students on stage learning a variety of steps from Latin Caribbean dances (Merengue, Salsa, Rumba, Cumbia).
Program length can be tailored to meet specific class period length. Subsequent programs on same day are 1/2 price.
