Program Description
Crayola Imagine Arts Academy presents "art with a purpose".

SUMMARY:
Let’s dive into the legends of North America’s Great Lakes region. From First Nations lore to modern-day accounts, these waters are full of history and mystery. Drawing inspiration from creatures like the meteor dragon and the underwater panther, children will paint their own lake serpents against a vibrant, watercolor background.

EDUCATIONAL VALUE:
In this class, children delve into the rich tapestry of North American First Nations' myths and legends featuring underwater serpent-like creatures like Mishipeshu, Oniare, and Gaasyendietha (“Gas-ee-en-deh-TAH”). They'll embark on a creative journey, drawing inspiration from these tales to paint their own underwater mythical creatures. Through hands-on exploration with watercolor pencils and brushes, they'll learn essential watercolor painting techniques, bringing their imaginative creatures to life against dreamy, vibrant backgrounds.
