Mission Be is a not-for-profit organization bringing mindfulness and SEL practices into schools to improve student learning and positively influence school climate.
Mission Be offers a 4-32 Week Mindfulness Program for K to 12th grade with weekly lessons (40 min each) taught by Mission Be trained educators.
Our program is aligned with: • The NYS Social Emotional Learning (SEL) • The NYS Next Generation ELA Standards • The NYS Standards for Mental Health • The DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) • Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Framework (CR-S) • PBIS
Topics covered include: • Mindfulness and the Brain – Understanding Neuroscience • Being Present, Digital Detox and Mindful Listening • Positive Thinking • Reacting vs. Responding • Empathy and Compassion • Anti-Bullying and Compassionate Boundaries • Gratitude and Altruism
Mindfulness practices are designed to create a positive learning environment, increase student focus, decrease bullying and create a culture of empathy, kindness and understanding. Mindfulness can improve test scores, reduce stress and anxiety, in turn increasing academic success.
Understanding the pricing structure: A typical school could, for example: Book a 4-week course for all the second-grade classrooms in one building. If there were six classes a day once a week for 4 weeks that would be 6 classes X 4 visits each =24 visits total X $187.50 per visit = $4,500.
$187.50 per classroom presentation $1,125 per classroom $4,500 for 6 classes to have 4 visits each. * Sliding scale available for all programs and shorter programs for restricted budgets.
