Program Description
|
Customized workshops with 1-5 Teaching Artists for school music programs across New York. We offer area teachers an outside resource for reinforcing their curricular goals, and we are flexible in meeting your scheduling needs. We offer additional support for improving musical and technical skills, concert readiness, and supplemental preparation for college auditions, regional orchestras, and festivals.
We offer the following workshop possibilities for your school:
-Coaching-based workshop: string faculty provide sectionals on ensemble music for one session and then return for a second session to play side-by-side with students in the orchestra
-Performance-based workshop: string faculty perform and speak about the music during a concert-length program. Program choices may be tailored to what students are currently learning.
-Composition-based workshop: students work with composer Eric Stewart on developing their own short compositions for one session, and we return as an ensemble on a separate date to perform and workshop student compositions
