Program Description
Crayola Imagine Arts Academy presents "art with a purpose".

SUMMARY:
We’re making the rainforest our home for a year!
We’ll be designing a treehouse where three scientists will live and work. The mission involves making our treehouse animal-proof and universally accessible for researchers of all abilities!

EDUCATIONAL VALUE:
This class introduces children to the basic principles of universal design and accessibility. They use design thinking and the IDEA design process to brainstorm, sketch, draw, and assess their concepts for a new treehouse research station in the rainforest. They develop their planning and drawing skills, and learn collage-making skills with mixed media. They think about the best way to design a treehouse so that it is
a user-friendly home for researchers of all
abilities, including one researcher who uses a wheelchair. This program engages children in hands-on creativity and design.
