Program Description
Crayola Imagine Arts Academy presents "art with a purpose".

SUMMARY:
Polar bears are amazing animals that face many
threats to their survival. Kids imagine what life is like for them in the Arctic and walk in the footsteps of Margaret “Mardy” Murie, the grandmother of the conservation movement. They sculpt polar bears on an ice floe. Then they use paints and mixing mediums to create the effects of fur and ice.

EDUCATIONAL VALUE:
This class teaches children about polar bears. They learn about the work of Arctic wildlife conservationist Mardy Murie, and they learn sculpting techniques to create their own polar bear sculptures. Inspired by images of real polar bears in the wild, they experiment with colors and textures for their sculptures, and use paint and mixing mediums to bring them to life!
