Program Description
Crayola Imagine Arts Academy presents "art with a purpose".

SUMMARY:
Lions are majestic animals, and fearsome predators. It’s no wonder a group of them is called a “pride”! Kids find out more about this vulnerable species and some of the people working to protect them. They practice techniques and then create their own lion sculptures and design savanna habitat dioramas for their lion to live in.

EDUCATIONAL VALUE:
This class teaches children about lions. They learn about the work of lion conservationist Guy Western in Kenya, and his work with local Maasai people. Children use sculpting techniques to create their own lion sculptures. Then, inspired by images of real lions and the African savanna, they create box dioramas based on lions’ natural habitat.
