Program Description
Crayola Imagine Arts Academy presents "art with a purpose".

SUMMARY:
From sleek sea turtles to sturdy, land-based tortoises, turtles come in many shapes and sizes, and can be found in many different habitats. We'll start by sculpting a coil to make the shell, and we’ll add extra pieces and colors to make our own turtle sculptures.

EDUCATIONAL VALUE:
This class teaches children about turtles. They learn about the work of turtle conservationist Kimberly Stewart, and they discover the difference between a turtle and a tortoise. Sculpting techniques allow them to create their own turtles. Inspired by images of real turtles and tortoises, they plan and test colors and patterns for their sculptures, and use markers and paint to bring them to life!
