Program Description
SUMMARY:
Students will follow a detailed construction plan to build their very own model rockets while exploring the science of rocketry. Children will play a fun game illustrating the four forces of flight. A model rocket launch will be part of the Space Travel class.

NOTE: The additional material fee of $4 dollars per student is already included in the price.

EDUCATIONAL VALUE:
Students are provided with a valuable hands-on experience as they build a functional model rocket. As they move through the various stages of construction, students learn the components of a rocket, and the roles each plays in a rocket's flight. Students will learn about the four forces affecting flight in lessons that will be reinforced with a fun game in which they race through space.

NOTE: Mad Science Programs are fun explorations into science and technology, and they encourage informal learning through hands-on experience. All Mad Science workshops include a lot of fascinating equipment, supplies, and take-home materials which the children build themselves. The Mad Science mission is to spark the imagination and curiosity of children everywhere by providing them with fun, entertaining, and educational activities which instill a clear understanding of what science really is, and how it affects the world around them.
