Program Description
Crayola Imagine Arts Academy presents "art with a purpose".

SUMMARY:
Let’s learn about Japanese-American artist Yoko Ono. She loves to experiment with art, and to make art that people can add to. Her art challenges people to think and to act, and to work towards a kinder, more peaceful world. In this class, kids will create paper tree sculptures inspired by Yoko Ono’s Wish Trees and hang their wishes upon them.

EDUCATIONAL VALUE:
This class introduces children to the art of Yoko Ono, a ground-breaking conceptual artist who has been changing the world through her art for decades. Children learn about how Yoko Ono encourages everyone to participate in her collaborative art projects, and how she uses her art to raise awareness about important humanitarian and environmental issues such as human rights, feminism and peace. They will experience some of her innovative art concepts by creating paper wish tree sculptures and exploring her instructional poems and collaborative methods.
