Program Description
Our high-energy workshops harness the power of hip hop and slam poetry to tackle bullying in a way that resonates with today's students. This program provides a creative outlet for students to express themselves, build social and emotional skills (SEL), and promote bystander empowerment.

The workshop experience is a dynamic blend of these key elements:

*Beatboxing & Breakdancing Basics: We'll take students on a journey through the foundational elements of hip hop culture. Through movement and rhythm, they'll explore teamwork and discover new ways to express themselves. This exploration fosters confidence and ignites a sense of self-discovery.

Word Power & Storytelling: We'll guide students in crafting slam poetry pieces that address bullying. This process builds self-awareness and empowers them to find their voice and use it for positive change. Students will learn the power of words and how to advocate for themselves and others effectively.

Bystander Intervention Skills: Through creative exercises and discussions, students will learn effective strategies to step in and support targets of bullying. This fosters empathy, social responsibility, and the courage to be an upstander. Students will gain the tools they need to create a more positive school climate where everyone feels safe and respected.

Box Out Bullying's hip hop and slam poetry program goes beyond traditional workshops. It creates a space for students to find their voice, stand up to bullying, and build a more inclusive school community.
