Program Description
|
A program of Spanish Dance, Flamenco, Afro-Cuban Rumba, Latin Dance, Argentine tango & Salsa. La Fiesta acquaints the students with a variety of dances from the Hispanic/Latin world - from the Flamenco of Spain to the Salsa of USA. Along the way, the student is told the multicultural and diversity of inclusion that took place to make this music and dance possible. The program starts with the antique cultures of the Greeks and Romans, through the Arabic, Moorish, Jewish and Indian Gypsies to the Afro/Cuban drum rhythms of the New World, the indigenous Indian cultures of the Americas and ends the Latin barrios of the USA that produced Salsa. Program also includes hands-on explanation of techniques as well as audience participation on the stage with the artists. |
