Suggestions to artists for improvement:
I would suggest the presenter add pre and post appropriate music to be played as the students enter and exit. Instead of having the students come to the front to make monkey sounds, maybe have the entire audience do it together. It might also work to have a child hold the Curious George doll and have George make the sounds.
Please include any additional comments you care to make.
Maria Wen Adcock is a wonderful storyteller and author. Her personalized presentation about the Chinese New Year engaged all the students and teachers. The comments both made to her as they were leaving were all positive and complementary. The question and answer session proved they were listening and engaged, even during the K-2 assembly. Mrs. Adcock's "Phil Donahue" style of circulating through the audience kept the students participating. The workbook provided is an excellent review of, and follow-up to, the assemblies. I highly recommend her.
