Would you recommend this program to other school districts?
Yes
Yes, I would encourage other school district's to have Brian Pinkney visit their schools. Mr. Pinkney was so engaging with our students and was able to share with them a summary of his career and how his art has developed overtime. He spoke to the students about his passions - not just art and writing, which I think was great for our students to understand that we all have different passions and it is okay to work at becoming knowledgeable in many different activities and ways. He was also able to create a special piece of art in front of the students that he donated to the school which is such a special memento the school will cherish.
Suggestions to artists for improvement:
I do not have any suggestions for Mr. Pinkney at this time. I can see that over his many decades of doing school visits he is constantly updating his presentation. It was fast paced, energetic, and engaging. The students did not get bored, which is so important especially for students these days.
Please include any additional comments you care to make.
This was such a special opportunity for our school! Mr. Pinkney was a wonderful guest and he taught our students a lot. It was a wonderful day for our staff and students.
